REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a way to restore our body’s homeostasis.

Reflexology is based on the ancient Chinese belief in qi, also known as Chi or vital energy Chi is known to flow through each individual. When a person is stressed or out of balance, the Chi is blocked. This imbalance can lead to illness or disease. The goal of the Reflexologist is to help your body restore its vital energy by removing the blockages in the body.

It is based on the zone theory. There are 10 different zones in the body which stem from the feet and work up the chain vertically. This is how each part of the foot corresponds to different areas, organs, glands in the body.

The benefits of Reflexology include reduced stress, improved blood circulation, a feeling of rest, calm, sense of well-being.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy goes hand-in-hand with Pilates and serves as the first step towards rehabilitation. Our Physiotherapy professionals are well-versed in Pilates and can offer a complementary approach to well-being as health care professionals with an in-depth knowledge of the body.  The goal of working with a Physiotherapist is to establish a treatment plan to guide you towards rehabilitation, restore functional abilities, optimize movement patterns, and improve quality of life.

Your consult with the Physiotherapist will include a full analysis of your body’s unique movement patterns to identify dysfunctions in joint mechanics and muscle imbalances. Once a comprehensive assessment is completed, the therapist will prescribe therapeutic exercises which will then be performed with a Physiotherapy Assistant.

Our Physiotherapy Assistants will work closely with the Physiotherapist to ensure your program is consistent with the required treatment plan and help you on your way to recovery. Their proficient knowledge in anatomy will help you restore mobility and independence by maximizing strength, movement and function.  Our method also includes exercises and neuromuscular re-education.
